About the Journal
This journal is called Horn African Journal of Health and Biomedical Sciences, hereafter abbreviated as Horn Afr. j. health biomed. sci.
Horn Afr. j. health biomed. sci. is an online and hard copy (with limited hard copies available for at least two years) open-access journal that publishes scientifically and ethically valid primary and review research articles from all areas of health, biomedical, clinical sciences and social determinants of health.
Horn Afr. j. health biomed. sci. serves as a reference for clinical and laboratory-based biomedical and public health research on various human and zoonotic diseases, health systems, biomedical technologies, environmental health, health policy, health service management and social determinants of health. It is a peer-reviewed journal dedicated to a diverse range of biomedical and public health sciences research from around the world.
Horn Afr. j. health biomed. sci. is sponsored by Salale University, which covers the publication costs on behalf of the authors upon acceptance of their articles. Therefore, the journal is copyrighted to Salale University, while each article copyrighted to authors.
Scope
Clinical, biomarker, characterization of human pathogens, public health, behavioral, infectious disease modelling, and social determinants of health studies are within the scope of the journal. Studies on molecules, cells, and tissues that are relevant to human health are also within the scope of the journal. It publishes primary and review articles, short communications, editorials, letters to the editor, and commentary that are within its scope.

Vision: to be internationally reputable journal through publishing high-quality, peer-reviewed scientific articles in health and biomedical sciences. We aim to achieve this without financial restrictions for authors and readers, utilizing a free publication process charge and an open-access publication model.

The missions of Horn Afr. j. health biomed. sci. are:

The overarching aim of the journal is to serve as a platform for the dissemination of primary research, reviews, and innovative evidence pertaining to the prevention, screening, diagnosis, and treatment of diseases that is valuable to biomedical and public health scientists.
